Mozey

Mozey Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-08-06 · Last updated: 2026-08-06

Mozey is a walking game. It reads your step count, which some laws, including Washington's My Health My Data Act, treat as consumer health data. This policy explains exactly what we do with it. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy and gives more detail about health data specifically.

What health data we collect

Only your step count. Nothing else.

We do not collect precise location, and we never have. Mozey does not request location access, so we cannot infer where you walked, only how much.

What leaves your device

A daily total. Not your detailed health record.

The hourly breakdown, individual walks, and every other metric your phone's health app holds stay on your phone. What reaches our servers is one number for each day, plus the day it belongs to.

Your live step count from that second motion permission can also be saved as your daily total when it is ahead of what Apple Health or Health Connect has settled on, so that reaching a goal in a game unlocks the moment you get there rather than minutes later.

Why we collect it

Only to run the product you signed up for:

We do not use your health data for advertising, we do not use it to build a profile of you, and we do not use it to train models.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your health data. We have never sold it, and we will not.

We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, insurers, employers, or anyone who wants it for their own purposes. The only companies that handle it are the service providers who run Mozey for us, under contract:

ProviderWhat they hold
SupabaseOur database and backend. Your daily step totals live here
SentryCrash diagnostics. On by default; you can turn it off in Settings → Diagnostics. Before a report leaves your device we redact known identifying fields, including step counts, and our diagnostics deliberately record day counts rather than step numbers. This is a best-effort filter, not a guarantee. A report can still contain diagnostic text we did not anticipate

That is the complete list for health data. The Privacy Policy lists every provider Mozey uses for everything else.

Who can see it inside Mozey

How long we keep it

We keep your daily step totals while your account exists.

When you delete your account, your daily step history is deleted. One thing to be plain about: the games you played stay on the board for the other players, and the step counts recorded inside those games stay with them. Your seasonal standings stay too, including a step total for each season you played, attached to the same unnamed account. All of it is de-identified rather than anonymous. If that matters to you, it should factor into your decision.

We do not currently run automated expiry on finished game history.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

If you are a Washington resident, the My Health My Data Act gives you the right to confirm whether we collect your consumer health data, to learn who we share it with, to withdraw consent, and to have it deleted. Use the same address above and say what you would like. We will not charge you differently, refuse you service, or give you a lesser product for asking, and we will not treat a request as a reason to close your account.

To be straightforward about one thing rather than hide it in a disclaimer: some Mozey features are built out of step data, so switching the data off switches those features off too. Leaving Seasons means you are not ranked and do not receive season rewards. Revoking the Health permission means your daily Shoebox cannot be claimed, because there is no step total to check it against. That is the feature not working without its input, not a penalty for asking, and nothing else in Mozey changes.

We do not sell consumer health data, so there is no sale for you to opt out of.

Changes

If we change how we handle health data we will update the "Last updated" date above. For a material change we will give you notice before it takes effect.
